Ryan Heath

POLITICO Europe

Every morning, Brussels Playbook by Ryan Heath is delivered to more than 70.000 inboxes. This daily briefing with the news from de facto European capital has gained a biblical status among its citizens in only two years time. The newsletter covers the most important European policies, while Heath’s seductive style makes the EU bureaucrats seem a little more human. And the EU a little sexier, as he claims.

An Australian native found his place working for the biggest and most influential European medium and living in the city where he enjoys sort of a celebrity status. First and foremost he sees himself as a writer; besides his journalistic pieces, he authored two books. He has 20 years experience of live events, network television and radio, he was contributing for CNN, BBC, Euronews and Monocle. Before working as a journalist in the Belgian capital, he was working in the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso’s cabinet and as a spokesperson for the Vice President Neelie Kroes.
